The Assistance for Areas with High Electricity Distribution Costs (“AAHEDC”) was implemented as part of the Energy Act 2004, and is designed to reduce the cost of electricity distribution in “specified areas”. It is also known as the Hydro Benefit Replacement Scheme since it replaces a previous scheme known as the Hydro Benefit.

This lesson describes the Assistance for Areas with High Electricity Costs and how they are recovered from suppliers.
