Green Gas Support Scheme

Please sign up for the course before starting the lesson.

The Green Gas Support Scheme (“GGSS”) is a new a tariff-based scheme supporting the injection of biomethane produced via anaerobic digestion into the gas grid.  The scheme will only support biomethane produced by anaerobic digestion, and does not extend to other green gasses or hydrogen, although the GGSS may be expanded in the future as other technologies become viable.

This lesson describes the Green Gas Support Scheme and the Green Gas Levy which will fund it. The scheme initially supports biomethane.
