We speak about energy markets, the power market and the electricity market, and tend to mean similar things by these terms. Electricity and power are used broadly synonymously to mean that form of energy that can be carried by wires and is used for heating, lighting, and to provide power for machines.

This lesson looks at the early discoveries that shaped our energy markets and the physics which underlies their operation.
